When Chairlift decided to let us into their duo-drenched echo world in 2009, they just dented the surface, and it could have been enough to just say ‘mkaythanksbye’ … but their sophomore album ‘Something’ is jam-packed with proof that Chairlift is a musical cacophony of staying power.
The album’s first single, ‘Sidewalk Safari,’ is a shady nod to 80’s sad-pop. Piled with emotional lyrics and heartfelt drums like some kind of seven-layer dream dip — and the clappy little bridge pretty much kicks all kinds of ass — it makes for the perfect introduction to this album.
